MGM Grand to Produce "Babes on Ice", "Babes in Air"

LAS VEGAS--MGM MIRAGE acquired the rights to unsuccessful early 90s television series "Babes" with the intention of turning it into a floor show at its MGM Grand casino-hotel.

"I always liked that series," explained producer Cam McClurg. "Especially the opening theme. 'The ground just shook and everywhere you look all you see are babes.' Brilliant concept, really. Three zaftig sisters, living in one small apartment."

McClurg noted that two show ideas are in the works. "I was thinking of having a number of overweight women swinging from trapeze. Hilarious. Am I right?" McClurg said. "And I thought that having a bunch of fatties on skates would be pretty good. Isn't that great? I'll bet Sands doesn't have anything remotely as cool as that."

MGM MIRAGE expects a "Babes" show to premiere some time in the Spring of 2005.
