Cliff's CliffsNotes Note Cliff's Cliffs

by cliff klyffe

NEW YORK--High school sophomore Cliff Barr was discovered to own a faulty copy of CliffsNotes on The Scarlet Letter that makes references to a character named Clifford Clavin that does not appear in the landmark nineteenth century novel.

According to literary scholars, Nathaniel Hawthorne, author of The Scarlet Letter, had written the Clifford character into early drafts of deservedly-despised secondary school standard, but had removed him shortly after the "mountain owned by Mr. Clavin bearing numerous nearly vertical slopes" disappeared from the narrative.

Barr's English teacher Cliff Huxtable agreed to let the "C" student retake his last quiz.
