Smith College Ditches Gender-Biased "She" for Gender-Neutral "He"

NORTHAMPTON, MA--The administration of the women-only academic institution Smith College heeded the advice of its linguistic department on Monday when it announced that it would no longer use the "gender-biased 'she'" in official documents, opting for "the English language's gender-neutral 'he' as the pronoun of choice."

"The decision is only mildly shocking," commented former Student Government Association President Lindsay Watson. "After we adopted a similar 'neutralizing' policy in SGA, we kinda expected the College to follow suit."

The U.S. Society for Static Language, founded in 1883 by Icelandic immigrants, congratulated Smith's move.

Georgetown's Center for Misogynistic Studies could not be reached for comment.
