Jenna Bush Disagrees, "A Bird in the Hand is Worth Two in the Bush"by christopher taylorAUSTIN, TX--Jenna Bush, daughter of U.S. President George W. Bush, was seen squabbling with fellow University of Texas student Melissa Simon over a cup of coffee yesterday. The pair was reportedly arguing whether "a bird in the hand is worth two in the Bush." "I was like, 'it's this famous saying, Jenna.' Then she was like, 'so what? that doesn't make it true.' So I was like, 'whatever," related Simon. "I could see the idiom making sense if I weren't hungry. Better to save something for later than waste it by gorging yourself silly," said Bush. "But the birds described could be very small. Like nightingales or something. And I am hungry right now. And I don't really have time to cook. I have a class in ten. So a bird in the hand is worth less than two in the Bush. Less than half." Aesop could not be reached for comment. |
