Man to Sell "First Ernest Movie" on eBay"Jim Varney Starz in The Importance of Being Ernest in '65" Cries Hawkerby christopher taylorLEXINGTON, KY--Retired doctor Edward Worrell is selling copies of a videotape featuring screen legend Jim Varney in a high school production of Oscar Wilde's The Importance of Being Earnest. The tape, recently converted from a home movie shot by Worrell in 1965, depicts Varney in the role of Seaton, Jack Worthing's butler. "I'll grant you that the "Ernest" character is a bit rough around the edges. I'll grant you that Vern is nowhere in sight. I'll even grant you that Jim's not even playing the Jack/Ernest character," stated Worrell. "But you must grant me that this is undoubtedly an Ernest movie." Varney's lawyer claims he'll be filing suit against Worrell as soon as Varney's reincarnation case goes through. |
