iTunes Shuffle, part trois.

Back in December, I decided to list the last ten tracks that came up while I was listening to iTunes while I had it set to “shuffle.” [Part deux. Part un.] Apparently The Onion A.V. Club decided to imitate me, but using famous people. Does this mean it is a good idea? Perhaps. I think there is something special about the “random” feature–the way of making unexpected and unintentional mixed tapes on the fly–that, especially in this era of thousands of songs, makes for something interesting. So here’s my latest installment:
- General Patton vs. the X-Ecutioners’ “Modified Combined Obstacle Overlay…” from General Patton vs. the X-Ecutioners.
- Blockhead’s “The Art of Walking,” from Downtown Science.
- All Girl Summer Fun Band’s “Will I See You?” from Summer of ‘98.
- Sahara Hotnights’ “Alright, Alright!”
- Man or Astro-man?’s “Preparation Clont,” from A Spectrum of Infinite Scale.
- The Breeders’ “Opened,” from Pod.
- Modest Mouse’s “Blue Cadet-3, Do You Connect?” from Sad Sappy Sucker.
- The Seconds’ “Not About Love (It’s About Love),” from Y.
- Bob Dylan’s “4th Time Around,” from Blonde on Blonde.
- Barbuda’s “Unzip My Pride,” live from their July 21st, 2001’s Wetland’s Preserve performance.
And no, unlike the AV Club feature, I’m not going to try to explain why these songs are in my general playlist. At least not yet.
